Cheesy Cheddar Fondue
8 oz. medium Cheddar or Swiss cheese, shredded (2 cups)
2 T. flour
1 can (10 oz./284 ml) condensed Cheddar cheese soup
3/4 C. milk (may use non-alcoholic beer instead)
12 oz. rye bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (6 cups)
Preheat oven to 350�F. Shred cheese into a small baking bowl. Add flour; toss.
Stir in soup and milk. Bake 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and smooth when
stirred.
Using knife, cut bread into 1 inch cubes. Use Bamboo Tongs, fondue forks or
wooden skewers to dip bread cubes into fondue. Yields 8 servings (2 2/3 cups).

Cook's Tips: To prepare fondue in microwave oven, combine ingredients in
Mini-Baking Bowl as directed. Microwave on HIGH 2 minutes. Stir; continue
micro-waving 2-3 minutes, stirring every minute, until cheese is melted and
smooth. If fondue cools while serving, return to microwave oven and microwave on
HIGH 1-2 minutes, stirring every minute until it is heated.
In addition to using rye bread cubes for dipping, try sourdough or French bread
cubes, sort breadsticks, apple or pear wedges, chicken, turkey or ham chunks,
pepper strips, or partially cooked vegetables such as small red potatoes, cut in
half, broccoli or cauliflower florets.
