Chicken Fried Steaks
Brown meat slowly on both sides in hot oil in large skillet. Cover and cook over low heat 45 to 60 minutes or until tender. Remove meat to platter and keep warm.
Skim off fat from pan juices. Add 3 tbs flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper, and 1/4 tsp garlic powder to drippings in skillet, stirring to loosen browned bits on bottom.
Add 1 1/2 cups light cream or milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil and is thickened.
Serve steak with gravy.
