Blueberry Slump
1/2 c sugar
2 T cornstarch
1/2 c water
1 t lemon juice
4 c blueberries
1 c flour
2 T sugar
1 1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1/4 t nutmeg
1/4 c butter
1/3 c milk
cream or whipped cream
Mix 1/2 c sugar and the cornstarch in a 3 qt saucepan. Stir in water
and lemon juice until well blended. Stir in blueberries. Cook over
medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.
Boil 1 minute.
Mix flour, 2 T sugar, The baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Cut in
butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in milk.
Drop dough by 6 t onto hot blueberry mixture. Cook uncovered over
low heat 10 minutes; cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
Serve with hot cream.
