Quick and Easy Black Forest Cake
1 box devil's food cake mix
1 (16-oz.) can cherry pie filling
1 container milk chocolate frosting
1 bundt shaped baking pan
Grease and flour bundt pan or spray thoroughly with non-stick spray.
Prepare cake mix as directed on box. Add the entire can of cherries. Stir until
cherries are evenly spread through the mix. Pour batter into
pan and bake as directed. (I usually cook the cake for 5 extra minutes after I
have tested it for doneness.) Remove from the oven and put on a cake platter
before it cools and sticks to the pan.
When cake is totally cooled, melt the container of frosting
in the microwave for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (check first to make sure
there is not a tinfoil lined top still on container). Check frosting by stirring
with a knife. Pour onto cooled cake in "drip-like" stripes. Chill for an hour.
Serves: 6 to 8
