Garlic Mashed Potatoes With Crunchy Onions

3 cups water
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon instant minced garlic
3 cups Mashed Potato Flakes
1/4 cup sour cream
1 (2.8-oz.) can french fried onions, crushed
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1. Lightly grease shallow 1 1/2-quart casserole. In medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Remove from heat. Add milk, salt and garlic; stir. Add potato flakes and sour cream; mix well.

2. Spoon potatoes into greased casserole. Sprinkle with onions and cheese. Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 30 to 60 seconds or until golden brown.

8 (1/2-cup) servings
