1 C. butter
1 C. firmly packed brown sugar
1 t. almond extract
2 1/4 C. all-purpose flour
1 t. instant coffee granules
1/2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1 - 6 oz. package of semisweet chocolate morsels
1/2 C. chopped almonds
Cream the butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add the brown sugar, mixing
well. Stir in the almond extract.
2. Combine flour, coffee, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture, stirring until thoroughly blended. Add the chocolate morsels and chopped almonds, blending well. Press dough evenly into a greased 15 x 10 x 1" jelly roll pan. Bake at 375° F. for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into 3" x 1" bars while warm.
3. Cool completely, and store in an air-tight container.
