Chocolate Pecan Chewies Mix in a Jar Recipe

Layer in the order given in a wide mouth 1 quart canning jar or in a jar of your choice.

1 C. sugar
1/3 C. brown sugar firmly packed
1/2 C. cocoa powder
1 C. chopped pecans
1 3/4 C. all purpose flour mixed with 1 t. baking soda.

Attach to jar:

Empty cookie mix into a large bowl, mix thoroughly.

Add:

1/2 C. of butter or margarine - softened
1 egg - slightly beaten
1 t. vanilla

Mix until completely blended, you may want to use your hands as this works best. Shape the dough into balls the size of walnuts. Space 2" apart on a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 375� F. for 11 - 13 minutes. Cool 5 minutes before removing from the baking sheets.

Yield - 2 1/2 dozen cookies
