Peanut Butter Crispy Bars
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup margarine, softened
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups mini marshmallows -- (4 to 5)
2/3 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
10 ounces peanut butter chips
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups rice krispies
2 cups salted peanuts
In mixing bowl, cream 1/2 cup butter, margarine and brown sugar. Add
eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla, mixing well. Combine dry ingredients;
add to creamed mixture. Place on bottom of sprayed 9x13-inch pan.
Bake at 350�F for 12 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle with
marshmallows and return to oven just until marshmallows puff, about
2 to 4 minutes. Set aside uncovered to cool completely.
Combine corn syrup, 1/4 cup butter, peanut butter chips and 2
teaspoons vanilla in large saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat
until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in cereal and
peanuts. Spread warm topping over marshmallow layer. Refrigerate
until set. Cut into squares. (Cuts easily if covered with foil
overnight first.) |
