1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1-1/2 cups light Karo syrup
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp black food coloring
3/4 tsp anise
In heavy saucepan, combine condensed milk, sugar, butter, Karo &
salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until 234° on candy
thermometer. Remove from heat.
Add food color and
anise; pour into greased 9x13 pan.
Let cool 2 hours or more.
Cut and wrap in waxed paper .
