Soft Spice Bars
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup plus 2 T sugar, divided
¼ cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp salt
Combine butter, 1 cup sugar and molasses. Beat in egg until smooth. Combine
flour, soda and spices, stir in molasses mix.
Spread in greased 10 x 15 pan. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
Bake at 375° 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Don't overbake.
