Sour Cream Cutouts

2 cups sugar
3 eggs
cup shortening
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
cup butter or margaine, softened
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp almond extract

In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, sour cream, eggs, butter and shortening. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer til light & fluffy.

Add Flour, baking powder, soda, vanilla, almond extract and salt. Beat at low speed til soft dough forms.

Cover with plastic wrap. Chill 1-2 hours, or til firm.

Heat oven to 350. On well floured board, roll dough to " thickness. Using 3" cookie cutters, cut desired shapes. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 6-8 minutes, or til edges are light golden brown. Frost with your favorite powdered sugar frosting.
