Spicy Oatmeal Cookies

1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
6 teaspoons milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon allspice
1 cup raisins
3 cups oats
2 cups flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Add oats raisins and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheets. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350�F.
