Apple Dumplings with Caramel Sauce
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
2/3 C. butter
2/3 C. milk
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. white sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 C. hot water
Sift first 4 ingredients, then add butter, milk. Roll dough. Cut apples in 1/2.
Fill centers w/ butter, brown sugar, and sprinkle of cinnamin. Cut dough into
squares (large enough to wrap around whole apple). Put apple halves back
together, and wrap dough around apple.
Sauce: Mix sugars, flour & salt, add hot water & cook 5 mins. pour over apples
when they are half baked. Bake 350-375 deg. until golden brown, 40-50 mins.
