Chicken in Cream - Geschnetzeltes
Four skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into thin strips
2 medium onions, finely diced
4 Tbsp. vegetable oil
fresh ground pepper
2 Tbsp. flour
2 cups Half & Half cream
1/4 cup white wine
sugar to taste
lemon juice to taste
In skillet, heat oil; add chicken and onion, seasoning with salt and pepper.
Saute for 4-5 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink. Add flour and cook
for 1-2 minutes. Add cream and white wine, stirring constantly until slightly
thickened. Finish with additional salt and pepper, sugar and lemon juice.
Please note that most German recipes have ingredients that you should add to
suite your own tastes. Start out with 1-2 tsp of those ingredients and add more
as your taste buds dictate.
Serve this with noodles.
