Ground Beef, Corn and Tomato Pie

2 tablespoons fat

1 clove garlic, minced

1 onion, chopped

1 pound ground beef

2 cups canned tomatoes

2 cups canned corn

4 tablespoons butter

5 tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon paprika

Pie crust, biscuits or slices of buttered bread

Melt fat and sauté garlic and onion; stir in ground meat and brown. Add tomatoes and corn. Melt butter; stir in flour. Add these ingredients to the meat mixture; stir and cook until boiling. Season with sugar, chili powder, salt and paprika. Place in a greased, oven-proof dish. Top with pie crust, biscuits or slices of buttered bread.

Place in a hot oven (425 degrees) until the top is done, about 20 minutes.

SERVES 6
