Gale's Spaghetti Sauce
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 lb. mild pork sausage or 3 mild pork sausage links taken out of casings
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1/2 C. bell pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
fresh sliced mushrooms
1 Tb. dried parsley
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. dried Basil
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 to 1 tsp. oregano
3/4 tsp. chili powder
1 Bay leaf
1 carton of chopped tomatoes or 28 oz. can
8 oz. can tomato sauce
8 oz. tomato paste
In a medium size pot sprayed with olive oil no stick spray, saute onion, bell
pepper, garlic, mushrooms, and parsley until vegetables are tender. Add beef and
sausage; brown then drain.
Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and rest of ingredients. Stir well.
Simmer for 1 1/2 hours stirring occasionally. You may want to add more
seasonings to taste.
Serve over noodles.
