Apple Donut Balls Recipe

4 T. shortening
1 1/2 C. sugar
3 eggs
5 C. sifted flour
3 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
2 t. nutmeg
2 t. cinnamon
3/4 C. milk
1 C. applesauce

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each egg. Add baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon and mix well. Mix in the milk and applesauce. Add flour 1 cup at a time mixing well after each cup.

Drop by � teaspoonfuls in 350-375� (High) canola or vegetable oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, with paper sacks underneath, then, roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.

For best flavor, use new oil.
