Graveyard Cake
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup water
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup sour cream
2 eggs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Set
aside. In saucepan, combine, butter, water and cocoa. Bring to boil over medium
heat. Add to flour; beat well. Beat in sour cream and eggs. Pour into greased
and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 35 to 38 minutes or until a toothpick comes
out clean. Cool for 5 minutes.
FROSTING
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
18 Oreo cookies
Small tubes of decorator icing
12 cream filled vanilla cookies (Cameo)
1 cup Cool Whip
Pumpkin candies and gummy worms
In saucepan, combine butter, milk and cocoa. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and
stir in sugar and vanilla. Pour over warm cake. Crumble Oreos and sprinkle over
frosting while still warm. Cool completely.
To decorate---Use vanilla cookies for gravestones. Take spoonfuls of Cool Whip
and mound like little "ghosts". Add eyes and mouths with icing and decorate
gravestones with icing. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Just
before serving add pumpkins and gummy worms on cake.
