Beef Burger with a Twist
1 1/2 pounds extra-lean ground beef
1/3 cup sweet vermouth
1/4 cup lightly packed fresh basil -- minced
1/4 cup red onion -- minced
1/3 cup unseasoned bread crumbs
8 sun-dried tomatoes -soaked in hot water about 3 minutes until softened
-- finely minced
2 tablespoonsItalian salad dressing
2 teaspoons garlic salt
vegetable oil-for brushing on grill
6 hamburger buns-or rolls
6 slices red onion -- optional
basil leaves -- optional
Prepare grill according to manufacturer's instructions.
In medium bowl, combine all ingredients. Shape
mixture into 6 patties. Brush the grill with vegetable oil.
Grill burgers 5 to 8 minutes on each side, or until
cooked through. Serve on hamburger buns.
Top with red onion and basil, if desired.
