1 pound ground meat: pork, chicken, turkey, beef, or a combination
2/3 cup onion, chopped
2/3 cup green pepper, chopped
1 to 4 cloves garlic, to taste
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder, or up to 2 tablespoons, to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
Sauté ground meat, onion, green pepper and garlic in skillet and strain off
excess fat. Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and salt and
pepper. Cook uncovered for about 10 minutes.
Ladle over hamburger buns or sandwich-size buns.
Garnish with grated cheese or whatever is available - sliced tomatoes, sliced
fresh green and/or red pepper, diced fresh onions, cream cheese mixed with green
chiles, diced green chiles or green olives.
