Dog Biscuits
1 C. flour
1 C. whole wheat flour
1/2 C. cornmeal
1/2 C. instant nonfat dry milk powder
1 t. sugar
1/2 garlic powder
1 t. beef instant granules
1 egg
1/2 C. shredded cheese
1/4 C. grated parmesan cheese
1/4 to 1/2 C. hot beef or chicken broth
Preheat oven to 250�F.
In a medium mixer bowl combine flours, cornmeal, milk powder, sugar,
garlic powder and beef granules. Stir together to mix. Add egg and
cheeses. Add the hot broth, adding just enough so that the dough can
be worked with. The dough should not be sticky.
Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for 10 turns. Let dough
rest for 5 minutes. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut out
with a dog bone cutter.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours, rotating tray several times. Cool on a wire
rack.
Note: You can place these close together to bake, they will not
spread. |
