Strawberry Trifle Recipe

1 yellow or white cake mix
1 quart strawberries, sliced and sweetened
1 box (5 oz.) vanilla pudding mix, prepared
1  8 oz. carton whipped topping
1/4 C. slivered almonds

Bake cake in oblong 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan as directed on package. Cool. Cut cake crosswise in half. Reserve one-half for another dessert. Cut remaining cake into eight pieces. Split each piece horizontally. Arrange half the pieces in a two- quart glass serving bowl, cutting pieces to fit bowl. Pour one-half the strawberries with syrup over cake. Spread with one cup pudding. Repeat with remaining pieces, strawberries, and pudding. Spread Cool Whip on top and sprinkle with almonds. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Serves 8 to 10.
