Sweet Hot Chili Bacon Sticks
12 strips bacon
12 (8-inch) breadsticks
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon hot pure chili powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Stretch and spiral the bacon around the breadsticks from top to
bottom.
On a plate, combine brown sugar and chili powder. Roll breadsticks
in sugar-chili mixture and place on a rack over a foil-lined cookie
sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until sugar is caramelized and
bacon is brown.
Gently remove pan from oven. The breadsticks will be limp and soggy
at first, but when cooled they will harden and become dementedly
delicious.
