Warm Strawberry Dessert Topping
1 quart (1 pound) strawberries
1 orange
1 jar (11.75-15.5 ounces) strawberry ice cream topping
Pound cake slices, vanilla ice cream or brownies (optional)
1. Hull strawberries using Cook's Corer� and slice into quarters using Paring
Knife. Zest orange using Lemon Zester/Scorer to measure 1 tablespoon zest. Juice
orange using Juicer to measure 1 tablespoon juice.
2. In Small (2-qt.) Saucepan, combine zest, juice and ice cream topping. Heat
over medium heat 5 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
3. Add strawberries to ice cream topping mixture; stir gently. Serve topping
over pound cake slices, ice cream or brownies, if desired. Topping can be made
up to 3 hours before serving. Cover and refrigerate. When ready to serve, heat
topping just until warm.
