2 (12 ounce) cans tomato purée
1/2 pound butter (2 sticks)
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup water
12 slices toast, cubed
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In a saucepan, bring the purée, butter, brown sugar and water to a boil,
Place toast cubes in a greased casserole dish. Cover the dish with boiled tomato
mixture. Bake "covered" about 45 minutes, and serve hot.
