Baked Green Beans and Mushrooms

2 1/2 cups bread cubes

1/2 cup melted butter

12 oz. canned sliced mushrooms, drained

3 15 oz. cans cut green beans, drained

1/4 tsp. salt

1/8 tsp. pepper

2/3 Tbsp. chopped onion

2 cans cream of mushroom soup

1 cup milk

1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds

Combine bread cubes with butter; place half the mixture in a greased 9 x 13 x 2 inch casserole. Add mushrooms and beans. Sprinkle with salt, pepper & onion.

Combine soup and milk and pour over onion. Sprinkle with remaining bread cubes. Sprinkle with almonds.

Bake at 400 F. for 30 minutes.

Serves 12

Note: If you substitute fresh vegetables for the canned ones, blanch lightly in boiling water before adding to casserole dish. Rinse with cold water to stop the cooking and drain well. Use 3 1/2 lbs. fresh green beans
