 Barbecued Chicken Recipe

Barbecued Chicken

50 split chicken breasts or chicken pieces

Barbecue Sauce:
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 cup margarine; melted
1 cup onions; chopped fine
2 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice; bottled
4 cups catsup
1-1/2 quarts water; use chicken drippings as part
4 tablespoons cornstarch; dissolved in 1 cup of the water

Lightly salt and lay chicken pieces close together in greased baking pans. Cover and bake at 350F for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and drain drippings. Spoon barbecue sauce over chicken and bake uncovered 30 to 40 minutes or until browned.

TO MAKE SAUCE: Mix ingredients and let come to a hard boil. Simmer 20 minutes. Makes 1 gallon.

YIELD: 50 Servings
