Macaroni and Cheese

1 1 lb. package elbow macaroni
6 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. flour
6 cups milk
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 lbs. extra sharp cheese grate

Cook macaroni to package directions.

Melt butter in large saucepan; blend in flour. add milk slowly, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth; Cook for about 10 more minutes until mixture thickens. Add salt and 2/3 of the cheese.

Combine sauce and macaroni; pour into two 8x11x2 baking dishes. sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and dot with additional butter.

Bake at 375 F. for 20 to 30 minutes.

Serves 16.
