Chocolate Nut Bread

3 1 ounce squares unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter softened
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup powdered sugar milk

Melt together the chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth. Cool. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and soda.

In a large bowl beat the sugar, eggs, 1 cup of milk and vanilla with a wooden spoon until blended. Stir in the dry ingredients until blended.

Add the chocolate mixture stirring until smooth.

Fold in nuts. Divide the batter in to three small greased loaf pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool in the pans 5 minutes. Remove from the pans and cool completely.

Make a glaze by combining powdered sugar and a small amount of milk. Drizzle over the tops of the loaves.

Makes : 3 loaves
