Marmalade Nut Bread 1/2 c sugar
1/4 c orange marmalade
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 c flour
1 T baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg
4 shredded wheat biscuits, finely crushed
1/2 c walnuts chopped
3/4 c milk
1/4 c shortening melted
Combine sugar, marmalade, eggs, and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Stir in shredded wheat crumbs
and nuts. Add alternately with milk to egg mixture. Add melted shortening.
Pour into greased 8" loaf pan. Bake 350� 50 minutes
Let stand 10 minutes. Remove and cool on rack. Best stored overnight for easier
slicing.
Serve with butter or cream cheese. |
