Poppy Seed Bread
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups oil
3 cups flour
2 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. each vanilla, almond and butter extracts
1 1/2 tbsp. poppy seeds
Preheat oven to 350�F. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.
Mix together and bake at 350�F for one hour.
Mix glaze. While bread is still warm, poke about 7 to 10 holes in each loaf.
Pour glaze slowly over entire loaves. Allow glaze to "soak in" and then turn out
onto wire rack to cool completely.
GLAZE:
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. each vanilla, almond and butter extracts
In small pan mix ingredients. Bring to boil over medium high heat. Boil about 1
minute. Allow to cool slightly before pouring over breads. |
