Beer-Boiled Shrimp Recipe

   

Beer-Boiled Shrimp
 
2 bottles or cans (12 ounces each) beer or 1 quart water
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon instant minced garlic (if desired)
1 pound fresh or frozen raw medium (50 to 60 in count) shrimp, in shells
Cocktail Sauce (purchased or see recipe)
Lemon Butter (see recipe)

In large saucepan, heat beer, salt and garlic to boiling. Add shrimp; heat just to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until shrimp are pink, 3 to 5 minutes. Drain; serve shrimp with sauces.

Cocktail Sauce

1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoons horseradish
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Mix all ingredients.

Makes 1/3 cup

Lemon Butter

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon snipped parsley
1/4 teaspoon red pepper sauce

Heat all ingredients over low heat, stirring constantly, until butter is melted. Keep warm.
