Cucumber and Dill Hearts Recipe
1 t. white wine vinegar
1 t. salt or to taste
12 T. REAL butter
16 slices white bread
4 t. fresh chopped dill
Garnish with Dill Sprigs
Peel and slice the cucumbers into this slices. Place in a colander and sprinkle with the salt and vinegar. Let set for 30 minutes.
Pat the cucumber slices dry on paper towels. Butter bread on one side. Arrange the cucumber slices on top. Sprinkle on a little pepper. Scatter the fresh dill on top lightly. Top with another bread slice, butter side down. Repeat until you have made 8 sandwiches.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out 4 hearts from each bread sandwich. Arrange on a serving platter and garnish with a dill sprig.
Makes 32 hearts.
