Walnut Florentines Recipe

 

Walnut Florentines

1-cup whipping cream

6-tbsp sugar

1/2-cup unbleached all purpose flour

1-tbsp finely grated orange peel

2/3-cup chopped walnuts

8-ounces semisweet chocolate, melted

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Butter and flour baking sheet. Mix cream and sugar in large bowl. Stir in flour and orange peel, blending well. Blend in walnuts. (Batter will have consistency of marshmallow cream).

Drop batter by teaspoon onto baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart. Bake until golden, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Transfer to wire rack and let cool. Spread chocolate over half of top of each cookie. Let dry on waxed paper.

Makes about 5 dozen cookies. Florentines can be frozen.
