Not-zarella Sticks
4 servings

1 pound extra firm tofu
2 Tablespoons tamari soy sauce
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup unbleached flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

Preheat oven to 400 deg F. Lightly oil a cookie sheet.

Cut the tofu into strips about 3" by 3/4" by 3/4". Marinate the strips in the soy sauce for about two hours.

Meanwhile, mix together the rest of the ingredients.

Roll the marinated tofu in the crumb mixture to cover completely, then place on the cookie sheet, leaving about a half-inch between pieces.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden, then turn and bake the other side the same. Serve hot or cooled to room temperature.
