Gingerbread Waffles
3 large eggs
1/2 cup molasses
2 tbsp. sugar
1 cup sour milk
1 2/3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter or hard margarine, melted (or cooking oil)
icing sugar, sprinkle - optional
Beat eggs together in bowl until light. Add molasses, sugar and sour milk. Mix.
Add next 8 ingredients. Stir to moisten.
Cook in hot waffle iron until crisp, using about 1/3 cup batter for each.
Sprinkle with icing sugar or serve with pancake syrup.
Makes about 14 waffles. |
