Macadamia Nut Waffles Recipe

Macadamia Nut Waffles 

2 large egg yolks
1 1/4 cups half and half
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups cake flour -- sifted
1/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
6 tablespoons melted butter
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
macadamia nuts
powdered sugar

Beat egg yolks until light. Add half and half, and almond extract. Continue beating. Sift cake flour, sugar, and baking powder together and add to the egg yolk mixture. Add melted butter and continue to beat. Lastly, very gently fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in well heated waffle iron. Garnish with macadamia nuts and powdered sugar. Serve with pure maple syrup, coconut syrup or fresh fruit, such as sliced and sugared strawberries or mangos.
