Portuguese Sponge Cake
5 large eggs, room temperature
3 ounces sugar
2 1/2 ounces sifted flour
2 tablespoons milk
5 tablespoons melted butter
Preheat oven to 350�F. Separate the eggs. Mix yolks and sugar with a beater
until creamy. Beat whites until stiff but not dry and gently fold into yolk
mixture. Sift in the flour, blend in the milk and melted butter. Line cake pan
or muffin tins with wax paper. Fill 3/4 full with batter. Bake 15 to 20 minutes
or until done. Remove from oven and let cool. |
