Caramelized Bacon Water Chestnuts
Bacon, edges trimmed, cut in half
1 can whole water chestnuts
Brown sugar
Maple syrup
Preheat oven to 400�F. Line a 9x13" pan with foil & spray with PAM.
Wrap 1/2 slice of bacon around each water chestnut & secure with toothpick. Put
in pan. When all chestnuts are done, pour syrup over them and sprinkle with
brown sugar.
Bake for 20 minutes. Turn & sprinkle with more brown sugar. Bake 20 minutes
more. Turn & baste. Bake about 20 more minutes or till bacon is brown.
Transfer to serving dish and pour glaze (not grease) over them. Either serve or
chill till ready. If chilled, just zap in microwave till hot. Serve with
toothpicks. |
