Party Dawgs
3/4 cup chopped onion
2 Tbls. oil
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 Tbls. sugar
2 Tbls. worcestershire
2 Tbls. honey
2 tsp. ground mustard
2 tsp. paprika
salt and pepper to taste
1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1 lemon, sliced
2 1/2-3 lbs. mini dogs or lil smokies
In a large sauce pan, saute the onions in oil until tender.
Stir in the next 11 ingredients.
Add the sliced lemons. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25
minutes. Discard the lemon slices. Refrigerate at this point of using at a later
time.
If making right away, put dogs in a crock pot and cover with the sauce. Heat on
low until heated through ( about 1-2 hrs).
Serve with toothpicks. |
