Summer Shortcake
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons butter melted
1 package frozen pound cake thawed and cut into10 slices (10.75
ounces)
1 1/2 cups frozen whipped topping thawed
1 quart fresh strawberries washed, hulled, and sliced
1/2 pint fresh blueberries washed
Preheat the broiler. In a small bowl, combine the honey and butter;
mix well. Brush half of the honey mixture over one side of each
slice of cake and place coated side up on a baking sheet. Broil for
3 to 5 minutes, or until golden. Carefully turn over the slices and
brush the uncoated side with the remaining honey mixture. Broil for
3 to 5 minutes, or until heated through and golden. Place on a large
serving platter or individual serving plates and top each with the
whipped topping, strawberries, and blueberries. |
