Apple Spice Custard Cake
1 box spice cake mix
2 medium apples -- pared, cored and finely chopped -- (about 2 cups)
1 can sweetened condensed milk -- (14 oz)
1 cup sour cream -- room temperature
1/4 cup lemon juice
ground cinnamon for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake mix according to package directions,
stir in apples. Pour batter into a well-greased and floured 9x13-inch baking
dish. Bake for 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out
clean. Meanwhile, in a medium-sized bowl, combine, sweetened condensed milk,
sour cream and lemon juice. Remove cake from oven and spread cream mixture over
top. Return cake to oven and bake for 10 minutes more or until set (like
custard). Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cool completely. Keep refrigerated.
