Cherry Coffee Cake
1 cup margarine
1 3/4 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups flour
1 can cherry pie filling
Cream margarine and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each.
Add vanilla, baking powder and flour. Put 3/4 of batter in a greased cookie
sheet. Spread cherry pie filling over top. Use rest of batter and spread over
top, it won't cover the top entirely but that is ok.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. When cool, drizzle a
powdered sugar frosting made with almond flavoring over the top of the cake.
