Applesauce-Raisin Drop Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1-3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup golden raisins
1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
1 cup applesauce

Cream together shortening, sugar, and egg.

Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Mix in raisins and oats, add to creamed mixture, alternately with applesauce. Beat well.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375� for 15 minutes.

Tip: Try using a cookie sheet with no sides, the cookie bakes even and it doesn't burn the cookie.
