1/4 cup lukewarm water (105F)
2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup milk, scalded
1/2 cup heavy cream
3-1/2 cups bread flour
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup rolled oats
Melted butter or margarine
Rolled oats

In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water with sugar; let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes. Combine scalded milk and cream; cool to lukewarm (105F). Add milk mixture and 1-1/2 cups flour to dissolved yeast; beat until smooth. Cover; let rise in a warm, draft-free place for 45 minutes.

Spray 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray. Stir eggs, remaining flour, salt, paprika, pepper, and butter into yeast mixture until smooth. Stir in cheese and oats. Pour into prepared baking pan. Brush top with melted butter; sprinkle with oats. Let stand, uncovered, in a warm, draft-free place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours.

Preheat oven to 375F. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Makes 1 loaf
