Pecan Pie Recipe

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups Steen's cane syrup
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

Melt butter, add flour, cornstarch and salt and stir until smooth. Add syrup and sugar and boil for 3 minutes. Cool. Add beaten eggs, pecans and vanilla; blend well. Pour into pan lined with unbaked pastry. Bake in hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake additional 30-35 minutes. Makes six to eight slices.

Note: Cane syrup has a flavor that is distinctively different from corn syrup.
