Baked Brandied Cranberries
1 pound, fresh (raw) cranberries � picked over, washed and dried
1/8 teaspoon, salt
2 cups, sugar
1 cup, brandy
Place berries in a shallow, 9X13-inch baking pan. Add the salt and
sugar and mix with berries. Cover baking dish with foil, place on
cookie sheet and bake at 350-degrees for 1 hour. Allow berries to
cool slightly before adding brandy. Refrigerate.
NOTE: 1 cup of toasted walnuts may be added to the baked sauce at
the same time that brandy is added.
VARIATION:
Brandy may be eliminated for a thicker �Candied Cranberry Sauce.� A
nice addition is 1 teaspoon of mace � added along with the sugar at
the start of the recipe. |
