Easy Candied Yams - dairy

1 24-ounce can Bruce's Yams
(or any brand of yams you like)
1/4 cup white or brown sugar
1/4 cup yam syrup, from can
1/4 cup butter

Place yams in shallow baking dish.

Combine syrup from can, sugar and butter in saucepan,
stirring to boil to thicken.

Pour sauce over yams.

Bake in 350-degree (F) oven for 20 to 30 minutes, basting frequently.

Variations:

Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon or nutmeg, or add orange  slices and 3 Tb orange juice, or add some crushed pineapple.
