Blueberry Bunch Strata Recipe

1 loaf Circle Cinnamon bread
1 (8 oz.) container soft cream cheese
1 1/2 C. fresh or frozen blueberries, divided
1 T. freshly grated lemon peel, divided
2 1/2 C. milk
10 eggs
1 t. salt
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 t. vanilla
powdered sugar
Blueberry Sauce (below)

Spread each piece of bread with cream cheese. Cut all bread slices in quarters. Arrange one-third of bread pieces in bottom of buttered 9 x 13" glass baking dish. Sprinkle with one-half of blueberries and one-half of lemon peel. Arrange one-third of remaining bread pieces over berries. Sprinkle with remaining berries and lemon peel; top with remaining bread.

In medium bowl, combine milk, eggs, salt, nutmeg and vanilla until well blended. Pour evenly over bread. Refrigerate, covered, several hrs. or overnight.

To Serve: Bake, covered, in a preheated 350�F. oven 30 min; uncover and bake until puffed, golden brown and set in center (30-35 min. longer).

Let stand 5 min. Cut in serving size pieces; sprinkle with powdered sugar and top with warm Blueberry Sauce.

Serves 8.

Blueberry Sauce
In medium saucepan, combine 2 C. fresh or frozen blueberries, 1/3 C. water, 1/4 t. grated lemon peel, 2 T. sugar, 2 T. fresh lemon juice and 2 t. cornstarch.

Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly; boil and stir 1 minute.

Amount: 2 cups.
