Fresh Strawberry Bavarian

1 envelope gelatin
1/4 C. cold water
1 C. mashed fresh strawberries
1 C. sugar
2 C. whipping cream - whipped
1 t. vanilla
1 C. sliced strawberries

Soften gelatin in cold water five to 10 minutes. Place over hot water to dissolve. Heat mashed berries with sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add to gelatin and mix well. Let cool to room temperature.

Whip the cream until stiff. Add vanilla and gently fold into cooled strawberry mixture, blending well. Fold in sliced strawberries. Spoon into large serving bowl, or individual serving glasses. Chill.

Serves 6-8.

Note: You may replace the strawberries with frozen raspberries.
